Ok, so in all honestly I was a little unsure about statement sleeves, I found myself asking if they were just a quick trend? In fashion one month and then out the next? Absolutely not, these 70’s style sleeves are definitely here to stay. From high-volume statements featuring ruffles, one shoulder, flute and bell sleeve designs, you’ll soon be joining in with this years hottest look. And once you do, your wardrobe will soon start filling with statement sleeves – believe me, I’m speaking from experience! I’m absolutely in love with this look. The bell/flute sleeve is such feminine and comfortable shape, it can be pulled off in many different ways. My favourite way to style this trend is by using it as a basic to build up a look for both the day and night. What I mean is: take a basic top with flute sleeves (pictured below) and dress it up or down with either a leather jacket or faux fur gilet, heels or flats, jeans or culottes. These are just a few examples, the combinations are endless!
As you can see above I went for something casual here, embracing Sunday brunch style I’ve teamed my flute sleeve jumper with jeans, a nude bag and heels – what do you think? This Funnel Neck Flute Sleeve Cropped Jumper is my favourite find so far this year all thanks to M&S! Flute sleeves add such a fun and unique element to a top, dress or jumper – like hey, I came to party. I actually saw this flute sleeve jumper just a couple of weeks ago on Instagram and it was love at first sight. For me, statement sleeves add a touch more drama than the usual winter jumpers.
