New Year, New You for 2017

I don’t know about you but after this festive season my jeans are definitely feeling very tight. And as we’re now into a new year, I do like to focus on positive resolutions. For me, I have a new year, new you resonating strongly – I guess because we are at the start of the year, it’s my chance to put a healthier and happier routine into action. I’ve actually been thinking about this for months, and now couldn’t be a better time to make the change.

My fitness routine for these past few months has well and truly gone out the window. I’ve managed to give myself hundreds of reasons not to go. It’s just too cold, I don’t feel well, I’ll start again Monday… And so the excuses continue! Especially as soon as my computers on, I seem to just not be able to distance myself. I’ve actually noticed a negative impact on my health and happiness for doing so. By putting my resolution into writing, I now have to commit. I also hope this will encourage anyone who loves the idea of a new year, a new you!

Its time to get active


That’s right, we just need to move! Whether its at the gym, beach or around the block, it is time to get active. I’ve discovered that exercising in quick spurts have great results. A new study has found that people who do just four to six 30-second sprints reaped the same heart-health benefits as those who logged a moderate 40- to 60-minute workout. So with that in mind, I’m focusing on starting with 5k interval training (walk, jog, sprint, repeat) three times a week. I’m going to be sharing my progress on Instagram stories, so do feel free to follow and support my first steps into a new year and a new me!
