Now we’re reaching the glamorous side of summer it’s all about dressing for those occasions, be it the races, weddings, garden parties or a niche social event, clearly we want to be looking our best. As of next week I’ll be attending Ascot for two days followed by a friends 40th garden party and my fathers 80th Birthday Celebration. Whilst I’m excited to be out socialising and having fun, it does leave me questioning what to wear. If I had the budget I’d be straight to the shops, or would I? To be honest I do have a number of beautiful dresses and two-pieces which can be restyle for these events. Here’s three of my favourite floral dresses which I’m thinking of re-working this summer.
I’ve found through trial and error that Phase Eight is definitely the best destination for timeless occasion dresses, so much so, you can easily re-work an outfit season after season, year after year. You’ll have a happy bank balance and a workable wardrobe, no-one wants so spend money on a one hit wonder. Take these Phase Eight floral items; the Juniper Two Layer Floral Dress, Louise Floral Dress, Botanical Scuba Top and Botanical Scuba Skirt – either one of these can be reworked for Ascot. I have purposely picked accessories which can be styled into each look.
This Eva Satin Clutch Bag is an elegant satin clutch bag with pleat detailing on the front. I love the fact that you can wear it two ways, as a clutch or as a bag due to the slim shoulder chain and a clip fastening. The Joy Fascinator is perfect to complete your look. The beautiful mesh fascinator, set on a comfortable headband with bow and feather extensions add elegance and class instantly to finish your occasion style.
What do you think? Which dress should I wear for day one at Ascot? Find out via my instagram account on Wednesday to see my finished look and to follow my day at the races!
