I truly believed that if you have great skin and look after it, you won’t need to wear lots of make-up as your natural beauty will shine through. Some habits are essential in order to care for your skin: Cleanse, Exfoliate & Moisturise.
It’s a routine I couldn’t recommend more and the skin care I have used for sometime now is Clinique. The system comes in three types. I was recommended skin type 2 which is for dry-combination skin, which apparently a lot of people are. If possible, I would recommend a personal assessment from a Clinique counter to help you figure out what your particular skin type is – should you want to.
- Redness Solutions Soothing Cleanser
I love a good face wash, especially one which effectively cleanses without leaving my skin dry or tight. This soothing cleanser helps calm the appearance of visible redness and irritation while preserving skin’s moisture balance. It really leaves my skin soft and Clinique claim this is the first important step in loosening dead skin cells and dislodging dirt, ready for the next step.
- Clarifying Lotion 2
Clarifying lotion gets a lot of bad press and even friends have mentioned that it’s over abrasive. Well, if you douse your cotton pad and start rubbing and scrubbing, then you’re going to over exfoliate. The important thing to bear in mind when using the clarifying lotion is to use only one flick onto a cotton pad, then apply with a quick sweep over the face. It feels fantastically refreshing on the face and by gently removing the dead layers of skin, it really allows your moisturiser to absorb more easily.
- Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion
There’s very little I can say about this product which hasn’t already been said in over 40 years. It’s the mummy of all moisturisers, and we all know it. It has no sun-screen, no promises of anti-ageing benefits so why is it so popular? Clinique claim that this is the closest thing their dermatologists could get to of the skin’s natural oil and water. Using one to two pumps, rub between your finger ends and pat first in the dry areas. Then with what’s left, apply it to the rest of the skin. Providing you’ve done the first two steps, you will see how quickly it disappeared into the skin.
Remember, there’s other ways in contributing to a radiant complexion all year long – drink lots of water, eat well, try and sleep eight hours a night and smile. Laughter is the best cosmetic… So grin and wear it.
