Paris Is Always A Good Idea – Relaxed Elegance

This look is my favourite from all the styles worn during my Paris takeover. Making elegance look easy and relaxed is never quite that simple to put together. But somehow this outfit represents relaxed elegance. The combination of the pastel hues and simple yet beautifully cut lines, make this a perfect day to night look, you can be elegant without being ‘dressed up’. This relaxed style literally solves the smart/casual description, which to be honest ,we all do find hard to dress for.

Relaxed Elegance

Embracing relaxed elegance I compiled this look starting with a comfortable cotton-mix jean featuring a vertical stripe pattern throughout. I wanted to style a look with stripes, but not in the obvious Brit trying to be Parisian-chic way (if you know what I mean)! Keeping the look simple I tucked in a white v-neck tee and threw on a waterfall mac. This contemporary mac works with everything from dresses to jeans. You have the option to fasten it with the asymmetric zip and a shape defining waist tie, but I prefer to wear the coat loose. The mac features details including buttoned sleeves and a gathered back for extra definition. As you can see, this is a versatile look which works just as much in heels as with trainers (smart/casual).
